By Grace … A Ten-Week Study of Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians

Church of the Good Shepherd, Pitman

Sundays, September 20 – November 15, 2026

Mondays, September 14 – November 16, 2026

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”  — Ephesians 2:8

An Invitation to Study the New Testament Book of Ephesians

Ephesians is Paul at his most eloquent and instructive: the first half (chapters 1–3) tells us what God has done; the second half (chapters 4–6) shows us how we then are strengthened to walk, work, and support one another in our families, at work, and as a congregation. Come read with us, listen honestly, and let the text open itself to our lives in these challenging days.

How Each Session Works (45–60 minutes)

  • Gathering and opening prayer.
  • Looking at the text together (10 minutes) — the two observation questions; simply notice what is there.
  • Reflection and conversation (25–30 minutes) — the heart of the session.
  • Taking it home and closing prayer (5 minutes) — the weekly practice, then close by praying a verse from the passage itself.

A Few Ground Rules

  • There are no wrong answers to reflection questions — only honest ones.
  • Read the coming week’s passage in advance to deepen the conversation.
