Because of the upcoming holiday, the Contemplative Group will meet on Wednesday, November 14, at 10 a.m. in the Conference Room. We will begin with a 20-minute meditation/prayer. Following we will continue a new teaching series from Franciscan Fr. Richard Rohr called “Falling Upward.” This series is based on his book of the same title in which he describes how in the first half of life we are preoccupied with establishing our identities. In the second part we begin to embark on a further journey that leads into challenges and mistakes that actually shock us out of our prior comfort zones. He states that the message of ‘falling down’-that is in fact moving upward is the most resisted and counterintuitive of messages in the world’s religions, including and especially Christianity.
